In Massachusetts Senate Race Independents Are Key

All eyes are glued to the Massachusetts Senate race where upstart Republican Scott Brown is now in a dead heat with presumed shoo-in Martha Coakley. Non-partisan pollster and analyst Stuart Rothenberg recently and surprisingly placed the race into the “toss up” column. Some polls like Suffolk University/7News has Brown up four; PJM/Cross Target conducted on January 14th have Brown 15 points ahead.

Many have speculated that residents are unhappy about the health reform bill Democrats are forcing through Congress. While this might be somewhat true, Massachusetts is facing its own challenges from fiscal disaster to deep debt, and a universal healthcare plan implemented by Mitt Romney that has become an unpopular cost-containment nightmare to an impending pension crisis.

The overtaxing and overspending is so pronounced that former Mass Governor Bill Weld says it’s sparked a “primeval reaction” that has transferred to a federal race.

"I think people in Massachusetts, like people all over the country, are suffering from accumulated spending fatigue.  First the TARP program, then the stimulus package, then further bailouts, then the price tag on the health care bill, then tax increases-- it has all added up to be too much for the average voter," Weld explains.

The reason for the shift in the race is that these issues are prompting disgust in a key demo: independents.

Many assume that the birthplace of Camelot, the Kennedys and ultra leftist institutions like Harvard translates to a Commonwealth dominated by liberals. Not so. Independents make up roughly 42% of the vote which is the reason Republicans, in recent years, have won statewide elections (Governors Romney, Paul Celucci, and Weld).

The role of the independent vote in the state, says Weld, is “dominant.”

“Independents are swing voters or else they wouldn’t choose to be unenrolled” (unenrolled refers to the status of the independents, meaning they can vote for the party of their choice in primaries).

Polling shows a consistent concern among independents nationally and locally. They oppose rabid, uncontrollable spending and one party control. They don’t like the idea that we’re charging our future to the US credit card and that Democrats hold the keys to the castles.

As a voting block, Independents prove that audiences aren’t monolithic. They’re pragmatic and solutions oriented. They’re turned off by overly politicized messages. They gather information differently, generally listening to the loudest voice in the cafeteria (Exhibit A: Tea Party protest footage).

As S.A. Miller writes in The Washington Times, “Democratic Party leaders were slow to recognize the spread of the anti-government tea party sentiment to a Democratic stronghold like Massachusetts, in a race that was once projected to be a cakewalk for Mrs. Coakley.”

Slow to recognize it? Democrats downright discounted and criticized the legitimacy and power of this growing movement. That arrogance is now their Achilles heel.

If Brown is able to pull off a win it’ll be a jaw-dropper and a crushing blow to the left. Not only will Brown serve as the 41st vote in the Senate, allowing Republicans to block every legislative attempt by Democrats going forward, he’ll also show that even the most solid Democratic seats and strongholds are vulnerable because of the bad behavior of their party. Even if Brown comes close – within a few points – it spells bad news and will serve as an indication of what’s to come politically in the 2010 midterms.

Republicans should be paying attention to Brown’s strategy and message – and how Independents turn out and why. And Democrats? Well, they should be very afraid.

2010 tax return... Your Constitution gone?

ON THE 2010 TAX RETURN

This proposed legislation is real & has been verified as being TRUE!  We need to contact our representatives and express your displeasure with this legislation.  It may not pass on its' own but could easily be attached to other funding legislation that will pass.

Gun owners... look what's on the 2010 tax return

VERIFIED AS
TRUE by snopes.com

http://www.snopes.com/politics/guns/blairholt.asp

As if we didn't have enough to get upset about! If you have a gun, I hope
it isn't registered!

It begins ... more Freedom gone ... the right to protect yourself and your
family gone! Now ALL GUNS must be listed on your next (2010) tax return!

Senate Bill SB-2099 will require us to put on our 2009 1040 federal tax
form all guns that you have or own. It will require fingerprints and a tax
of $50 per gun. This bill was introduced on February 24, 2009, by the Obama
staff. BUT, this bill will only become public knowledge 30 days after the
new law becomes effective! This is an amendment to the Internal Revenue Act of 1986. This means that the Finance Committee has passed this without the Senate voting on it at all. Trust Obama? You must be kidding!

The full text of the IRS amendment is on the U.S. Senate homepage:
www.senate.gov.
You can find the bill by doing a search by the bill number, SB-2099. You
know who to call; I strongly suggest you do. Please send a copy of this
e-mail to every gun owner you know.

Text of H.R.45 as Introduced in House: Blair Holt's Firearm Licensing and
Record of  Sale  Act of 2009:

www.opencongress.org/bill/111-h45/text

Obama's Congress is now starting on the firearms confiscation bill.  If it
passes, gun owners will become criminals if you don't fully comply.

It has begun ... Whatever Obama's "Secret Master Plan" is ... this is just
the 'tip of the iceberg!'

Very Important for you to be aware of a new bill HR 45 introduced into the
House. This is the Blair Holt Firearm Licensing & Record of Sale Act of
2009.

Even gun shop owners didn't know about this because the government is
trying to fly it under the radar as a 'minor' IRS revision, and, as usual,
the 'political' lawmakers did not read this bill before signing and
approving it!

To find out about this - go to any government website and type in HR 45 or
Goggle HR 45 Blair Holt Firearm Licensing & Record of Sales Act of 2009.
You will get all the information.

Basically this would make it illegal to own a firearm - any rifle with a
clip or ANY pistol unless:
1) It is registered
2) You are fingerprinted
3) You supply a current Driver's License
4) You supply your Social Security number
5) You will submit to a physical & mental evaluation at any time of their
choosing

Each update change or ownership through private or public sale must be
reported and costs $25.  Failure to do so you automatically lose the right
to own a firearm and are subject up to a year in jail.

There is a child provision clause on page 16 section 305 stating a
child-access provision. Gun must be locked and inaccessible to any child
under 18. They would have the right to come and inspect that you are
storing your gun safely away from accessibility to children and fine is
punishable for up to 5 years in prison.

If you think this is a joke - go to the website and take your pick of many
options to read this. It is long and lengthy. But, more and more people are
becoming aware of this. Pass the word along. Any hunters in your family
pass this along.

This is just a "termite" approach to complete confiscation of guns and disarming of our society to the point we have no defense - chip away a little here and there until the goal is accomplished before anyone realizes it. Just  look at history.
Hitler did this in Germany and millions of people died, Stalin did it in Russia and millions of people died. When people have guns they are CITIZENS , when the Government take Guns away you are SUBJECTS!!!!

This is one to act on whether you own a gun or not.

I guess we will just have to stop filing Income Tax returns. The fines are
less. Looks like the only good solution to me. What do you think?

WELCOME TO WISHLAMP 2010!

www.WISHLAMP.com was created by Bryan R. Jenks of JENKS INDUSTRIES in the effort to help others help others. When It was first created it was on it's own web site and had many people's music and art from all over the world. but one day got hacked into and all that information was lost. Bryan's health is not the best & is is very hard for him to build back what he once had by himself. So he rebuilt what he could piggybacked on many other networks. The sad part about that is... those networks never seem to stay. (MSN, Yahoo 360 and so on. so he keeps building them up... and once that network falls he has to start all over.)

Right now Bryan had a mini stroke in August 2009 and has been off work with out pay ever since. It has been very hard for him these past months. So that is why I'm asking for him... for your help. He needs people who are willing to take up a subject. (Cars, child care, what ever) and just write about it. that's all you have to do... at least once a month. It would make a difference. WISHLAMP also can be found on FaceBook, Multipy, MySpace, Windows Live, & WISHLAMP YAHOO GROUP so if you have one of these as well as another type of blog... you can help by posting on your blog what you would and copy it on the WISHLAMP page as well.

Also anyone who needs help, or can help someone. please feel feel to post your wishes as well in the correct subject. If you just want to sell something... you can do that as well.. but please post in the correct subject. or use our BUY N SELL or  CLASSIFIED ADD links. (Please do not post your sales adds in the wrong subject. this is unfair to all as well as yourself... per no one that you want will be looking for it if it's in the wrong location.)

If you have any questions feel free to contact us as thewishlamp@hotmail.com or jenksindustries@hotmail.com

May your wish come true at www.WISHLAMP.com

Patriotic Retirement Plan‏

This is from an article in the St. Petersburg Times Newspaper on Sunday.

The Business Section asked readers for ideas on "How Would You Fix the Economy?"
I think this guy nailed it!

Dear Mr. President:

Please find below my suggestion for fixing America 's economy.
Instead of giving billions of dollars to companies that will squander the money on lavish parties and unearned bonuses, use the following plan.   You can call it the Patriotic Retirement Plan:

There are about 40 million people over 50 in the work force.  Pay them $1 million each severance for early retirement with the following stipulations:

1) They MUST retire. Forty million job openings - Unemployment fixed.

2) They MUST buy a new American CAR. Forty million cars  ordered - Auto Industry fixed.

3) They MUST either buy a house or pay off their mortgage - Housing Crisis fixed.

It can't get any easier than that!  If more money is needed, have all members of Congress and their constituents pay their taxes...

If you think this would work, please forward to everyone you know.
If not, please disregard.

(This was sent to me by Nann... who got it from Terry R.)

Are You Willing to Pay For It?

Let's say I break into  your house!

Recently large  demonstrations have taken place across the country
protesting the fact that Congress is finally addressing the issue of
illegal immigration.

Certain people are  angry that the US might protect its own borders,
might make it harder to  sneak into this country and, once here, to stay
indefinitely.

Let me see if I correctly understand the thinking behind these protests.
Let's say I break into your house.
Let's say that when you discover me in your house, you  insist that I
leave.

But I say, "I've made all the beds and washed  the dishes and did the
laundry and swept the floors.
I've done all the things you don't like to do.
I'm hard-working and honest (except for when I broke into your  house).
   According to the protesters:

a.. You are Required to  let me stay in your house
b.. You are Required to  add me to your family's insurance plan
c.. You are Required to  Educate my kids
d.. You are Required to  Provide other benefits to me and to my family
e.. (my husband will do all of your yard work because he is also hard-working and honest, except for that  breaking in part).

a.. If you try to call the police or force me out, I will call my
friends who will picket your house carrying signs  that proclaim my RIGHT
to be there.

a.. It's only fair, after all,  because you have a nicer house
than I do, and I'm just trying to  better myself.

a.. I'm a hard-working and honest, person,  except for well, you
know, I did break into your  house.

a..  And what  a deal it is for me!!!

a.. I live in your house, contributing only a fraction of the cost of my keep, and there is nothing you can do about  it without being accused of cold, uncaring, selfish, prejudiced, and  bigoted behavior.

a.. Oh yeah, I DEMAND that you  learn MY  LANGUAGE!!! so you can communicate with me.

Why can't people see how  ridiculous this is?! Only in America ..if you agree, pass it  on (in English). Share it if you see the value of  it. If not blow it off......... along with your future  Social Security funds, and a lot of other things.

Whatch Out!

This lady has changed her habit of how she lists her names on her mobile phone after her handbag was stolen.
Her handbag which contained her mobile, credit card, purse etc.... was stolen. 20 minutes later when she called her hubby, from a pay phone telling him what had happened, hubby says "I've just received your text asking about our pin number and I've replied a little while ago."
When they rushed down to the bank, the bank staff told them all the money was already withdrawn.
The pickpocket had actually used the stolen phone to text "hubby" in the contact list and got hold of the pin number. Within 20 minutes he had withdrawn all the money from the bank account.
Moral of the lesson: Do not disclose the relationship between you and the people in your contact list.
Avoid using names like Home, Honey, Hubby, sweetheart, Dad, Mum etc.......
And very importantly, when sensitive info is being asked thru texts, CONFIRM by calling back.
PLEASE PASS THIS ON TO YOUR LOVED ONES AND FRIENDS.....
